Description:
Our proposal went beyond a traditional park by creating an elevated natural sanctuary integrated into the urban fabric of a global city such as Seoul. Crossing along the project site we proposed a colored looping path that connects urban and natural elements, from its portal at the Sinbanpo-ro it links the way through green zones and water mirrors, it guides visitors to explore the last original dwelling reimagined as a new leisure and cultural landmark. This recycled building is reconfigured through a structural envelop and platforms leading to a vast elevated landscape that crosses over the Olympic Highway and folds gently to connect to the Banpo-Hangan River Connection Park. Our proposal is designed under a principle of slow life and urban oasis concept that promotes reconnection with the environment and meaningful social interactions, a step forward for a new way of healthy urban living.
